This thing is pretty awesome, it works exactly as described. Hook up a propane tank to it and watch the flames go, the flames don’t shoot out far enough to be uncontrollable. Besides being a cool flame gun it also has some practical uses like clearing out dried weeds, starting a bonfire, or like I use it for which is for Shou sugi ban also known as yakisugi which is burning the outside of wood. I do this for the charred look and also to help it get a flame retardant finish. I usually seal the wood afterwards with linseed oil.

This is unmistakably not a toy and is not safe to use without the proper safety precautions and common sense. Yes, it does look like a toy rifle and does feel fun to use but it is putting out some serious heat. It was easy to install the propane tank and ignite the flame. Then there’s a dial to help adjust the strength of the flame output. It’s very intuitive to use and not too heavy to handle. I tested this on a couple of steaks and it performed well. The steaks were cooked well and developed a nice char on the outside during cooking.

I love this torch—it feels sturdy and well-built. It’s very intuitive to use: just slightly open the valve and press the ignition trigger, and you’re good to go. I’ve already used it three times to sear steaks, and it works perfectly as a finishing touch. I’ve even gotten compliments from dinner guests! It’s also been handy for starting a fire in my fire pit.

Now this propane touch is a great ice breaker, literally! Not only does it get everyone’s attention when using it to start a bonfire, it excels at melting ice! I used this Torch various times to melt down ice this winter and it works very well! It does use up propane rather quickly, so be warned. Otherwise, awesome product and well worth the price!
